Bigger Surprise; Geale over GGG vs. Maidana over Floyd

    I don't think you understand my point. People here are saying Geale is no good and has no chance of winning. Geale will be the best opponent that GGG has faced which means that GGG has not fought any top level opposition.

    Maidana already beat Mayweather, he's only an hypejob defensive obsessed, Castillo did it too, and other prime fighters he avoided would have done it also.

    Golovkin-Geale are closer in status than Mayweather-Maidana. Geale is the best fighter Golovkin's ever fought in the pro's, not so much Maidana for Mayweather, even at 37.

    I'm a hardcore GGG fan, but at this stage (not his own fault), he's more hype than accomplishment. Macklin, Proksa, Ouma, Stevens, Rosado are his best wins. Good solid fighters and the way he took them out support him as an elite MW, but those wins don't earn him status as an elite p4p. We have yet to see Golovkin's ceiling, which means we may find it to be a lot shorter than we imagine.

    wouldn't be surprised because mayweather has had very close fights but ggg has not.
