Ortiz is fiercer, hungrier, a southpaw, younger, coming off the best win of his entire carreer, i`d say Ortiz right now.

Cotto has no chance of beating Floyd. He is a boxer just like Floyd and would get outpointed. At least Ortiz poses that theat of youth, hunger, size, power, etc. So while his chances of beating Floyd might be slimmer than Cotto, he poses a bigger threat.

there's a reason why floyd retired back in 2008 and why floyd thinks ortiz is just a tune-up. figure them out...

Cotto get dismantled and embarrassed by Floyd. wide UD. I don't see Cotto winning a round. He moved up to a weak JMW because he can't compete in the talent heavy WW.

    Floyd 120-108

I give it to Ortiz because he is sort of an unknown. He could come out and floor Floyd inside a round or two. Ortiz can win this but it would have to be early on. Floyd adjusts round 4-5 and teaches Ortiz how to box.

My honest opinion this plays out like the Mosley fight.

100% Cotto. I don't even think all *****'s would say Ortiz. Cotto is bigger, stronger, more experienced and more intelligent. Ortiz has a win over Berto. While a good win.....let's let the records speak for themselves.

Your avatar speaks volumes. You'll back Cotto no matter what.

    Pac
    Floyd
    Berto
    Margo
    Ortiz
    Clottey

Any one of these fighters gives him fits if not out right destroys Cotto. His last 2 fights are against a man with a torn ligament in his knee, and a washed up, drinking, smoking, South American. before them, he got beat down by Pac, and ran from Clottey

Cotto is not bigger than Ortiz. Anyway, Mosley is bigger, stronger, more experienced, more intelligent, and overall better than Judah. Which one gave Mayweather a tougher fight? Styles make fights. Cotto's style does not match up well against Mayweather.

 I love it how Cotto is "shot" because he lost to PAC. Floyd has that effect as well. After Floyd beats a guy... He's all the sudden "SHOT"!:rofl

So you're telling me that his performance over Yuri and Mayorga somehow gave you the perception that he's "SHOT"??:verysad You're definitely suffering from poor vision.

They both would pose different issues to Floyd, but Cotto is just a better fighter at this point. Ortiz could prove me wrong though.

Dude....Ortiz is just moving up to Welter. I'm well aware that his frame can support Welter and is more suited but Cotto has been fighting at 147 a lot longer. His body has adjusted and has completely filled out where Ortiz hasn't.

You're comparing a 39 year old, 2011 version of Shane to a 2006 version of Zab Judah. That's the equivalent of the comparison of "Apples to Oranges". While I agree that styles do make fights I want you to try and look at this from a logical angle.

Ortiz has done what? Lost to Midana, beat Berto, Draw with Peterson? And yea.... I'm sure he'll be more comfortable at Welter weight I don't think it's going to do that much for him to somehow suggest he'll give Floyd problems next month.

I'm sorry but Midana is not that great....Peterson is not going to give Floyd or PAC anything to lose sleep over and Berto while talented is very much overhyped. Ortiz is too at this point. Not by all....by few. Berto and Ortiz are like Lopez and Gamboa. Good young talents who are grinding their way, paying their dues and taking their lumps. Grant it...Gamboa hasn't lost yet....He will and he's taking on stiffer challenges.

Cotto is not the fighter he use to be. After the Marg lost he did become more calculated in the ring. He did take beatings from both Marg and PAC but he's a resilient, young, durable guy. He's an experienced, legit and proven. Ortiz is none of that. Ortiz is "INCONSISTENT" as it stands now. Which makes him exciting especailly with his background.

Absolutely! Josh Clottley.... at the time.. one of the top 3-4 Welters. Gave Champion at the time, Margarito fits until damaging his hand allowing Tony to take over the 2nd half and retain the title. Beat Zab Judah in more dominant fashion than Floyd Jr.

We can definitley throw Josh up in the equation kid. Thanks!
