Put up an "even" option and I'll vote for that.

Good post but it takes floyd a few rounds to figure out almost anyone. Took him a while to adjust to zab, he got caught figuring out mosley. . . And he never quite figured out marquez, just had a speed advantage. I could say he had dlh and hatton figured out from
the bell but cotto has a variety of tools floyd would have to go defensive more than he would like ie the jab, left hook, uppercut plus cotto throws in combos which is a similar style to what castillo implemented

Floyd gets credit for Mosley when Cotto performed better against a younger livelier version. WTF is wrong with people here.:nut

It is non-existent. When you are talking about top competition, being that is what he is fighting, Cotto does not have a right hand. Nobody cares that Cotto can hurt some tomato can with his right hand.

Most top tier boxers have solid chins also. Cotto hasn't hurt anybody with his right hand in quite some time. He has always been a left-handed dominant guy as he is a converted southpaw. Watch for his jab and left hook, neutralize that and he is far less dangerous. This is in his scouting report for crying out loud, and it is not like this is some secret.

Cotto also has a problem fighting backing up. He starts throwing arm punches because his feet aren't quick enough to set and reset. This also takes away power, especially from his off-hand. (his right)

And don't get me started on his stamina. Dude fades, and does not finish a fight strong.

I am a Cotto fan too, but I recognize his flaws as a fighter. That is what makes him exciting to be honest. Flawed fighters are generally the most fan friendly in my opinion. More action, less of a chess match, and they have to dig deep fairly often to pull out their wins.

He staggered Yuri Foreman with a right hand, two fights ago.

Anyway, his right hand was most effective punch in the Mosley fight, which is one of his better victories.

Mosley was never hurt in that fight and had Cotto retreating at the end. His power was not stopping Mosley from advancing. Mosley also out-landed Cotto in power shots. Cotto's jab won him the fight, not his right hand. Overall punches landed was dead even.

Yuri Foreman was fighting on one leg if you recall.

That's probably because Cotto won a close fight (115-113) against Mosley, were Floyd dominated Mosley and made him look old.

And before you go there, yes Mosley was older and more battle worn by the time he faced Floyd.

But this is based off the argument that Cotto is a more flawed fighter than Ortiz which is just not true. Cotto's defense isn't the best but he doesn at least try to avoid punches, try to use footwork, and try to do more than move forward. Just because he's left dominant doesn't mean his right hand is non-existent. He's left handed. Oscar relied on his left also. Hagler relied on his right as he was a right handed southpaw. Are these one handed fighters also?

Not every convert is one-handed, depends on the individual. As I said also, Cotto had an automobile accident that injured his shoulder that needs to be taken into account.

"El Nuevo Dia Newspaper of Puerto Rico recently reported that Emanuel Steward, Miguel Cotto’s current trainer, stated that Miguel has fought his main fights against Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, and Manny Pacquiao with practically one arm. Seven years ago, Cotto injured his right shoulder in a car accident while traveling to jog at El Morro Castle in Puerto Rico.

His right arm required emergency surgery. After the operation, Cotto renewed his career by depending mostly on his left arm, which he developed into one of the most devastating jabs and left hooks in his division. His right arm was never the same, although Cotto seemed to have kept it as a secret.

In the years since the accident, his right shoulder developed scar tissue that was removed last summer, prompting Cotto to take the rest of the year off while healing. According to El Nuevo Dia, Steward stated that he noticed that during his preparation to fight the then Junior Middle Weight Champion Yuri Foreman, Cotto was not using his right hand as much as he expected him to do during training.

Steward confronted Cotto about whether he had a problem with his right hand, and the typically proud Cotto responded that there was absolutely no problem and that everything was alright. Steward was not convinced but accepted Cotto’s word. However, Steward stated that right after his last fight with Foreman ended, Cotto admitted the pain in his right shoulder had finally become intolerable.

According to Steward, the surgery and six months of recuperation seem to have been extremely beneficial to Cotto. Steward states that Cotto is using his right hand free of pain, with significantly greater frequency, and with more power than before. According to Emanuel, Cotto now has a weapon that he did not have during the last few years and will make him a better boxer."

That is a significant issue and I have already brought this up. Cotto has been dealing with an injured right shoulder for some time. This is what I have been saying, Cotto himself knows his right is weak just like everybody else. This is no secret and when you watch his fights more closely, you can really see it.

So you are aware I'm not a professional boxer right? Talk about double standards and hypocritical, you are fronting me about calling Mayorga a chump (which he is, relative to Elite caliber boxers) yet you constantly refer to PBF as a coward? Either way, the bottom line is neither guy is anywhere near an elite level, matter of fact was Foreman not TKO'd for real in his next fight? I mean Mayorga smokes during camp FFS, I mean come on breh...

PBF isn't going to stop Ortiz, I believe he'll beat him, but I don't think he'll stop him.

You're making it seem as if having a right hand and one-punch power are mutually exclusive, when that couldn't be any further from the truth. Just because you're not able to hurt a fighter with a reputation of having granite chin, it's doesn't mean you lack punching power. Oscar De La Hoya also couldn't stop Mosley from advancing or hurt him, but I bet you wouldn't say he lacked power in his left hook, would you?

He staggered Foreman in round two. The injury didn't occur until the 7th or 8th round.
