I think Jr is taking an even bigger risk than Khan did.
There is a blueprint for beating Canelo and many thought it was possible. Khan is nearing the end of his career so doesn't have much to lose.
It's really hard to imagine a way Jr can win this as he doesn't have great power or great twinkle toes. Surely he can't win a war!
Jr is my favourite fighter to watch right now. Really exciting style and once again he is taking a huge step up in class when he doesn't need to.

CEJ is not a bigger underdog then Khan, and why can't he win a war against GGG? GGG loves to go to war and he isn't hard to hit in the pocket, CEJ hits hard enough to take anyone at 160 out and he has the stamina to finish them

CEJ's power is becoming as vastly underrated as GGG's is becoming overrated.

How many 1 punch ko's has GGG had any way? Most of his ko's are quit jobs just like CEJ's are. I'm not saying GGG isn't the hardest hitter at 160 but he clearly dosen't punch half as hard as Anthony Joshua. He clearly doesn't punch as hard as top 10 175lbs fighters.

Golovkin will dominate and probley stop eubank don't get me wrong but I am far from convinced he's this absolute machine everyone has hyped him to be. He gets hit a lot by sub par opposition, there's some people on thee general thread who try and argue that he genuinely let's people hit him just so he can get close to them! Iv never heard of such nonsense.

He gets tagged and you can also see him back up at times when he is tagged. The fact is he's not fought anyone of any decent calibre. Alveraz's people are making a mistake not making the fight now because I think Canelo out boxes him with ease as he seems to have a good enough chin to take what will come Back at him.

Mark my words the first quality fighter he goes up against will beat ggg. They need to have a very good chin don't get me wrong and have at least enough power to keep him honest but he will be beat.

If eubank was granite chinned, he might be but I'm guessing he's not, I think he could cause ggg problems just by landing more shots but I think eubank leaves himself to open so he will be caught repeatedly.

In my opinion Khan was the bigger underdog, he was moving up a lot of weight, his chin is seriously bad, he was in the US against Canelo and he only took the fight for money and to dampen the calls Brook.

But odds at the bookies suggest Jr is the bigger priced underdog.

I've seen it said that if cej loses (which imo he will) then he was meant to, but if he wins he pulls off a massive upset. Either way he wins and there is big fights for him after. But I think it's a divvy move he hasn't got the ring iq, boxing brain or power to trouble ggg and his arrogance is going to get him beaten badly. Cej is still way to unpolished to think he can box ggg

Him winning would surprise me less than a Khan win over Canelo would have for various reasons.

For this to be as big a shock CEJ would need to have a glass jaw, several knockout losses at middleweight behind him and be moving up to face Kovalev.

CEJ just needs to be in a good performance, and even if he loses, his stock his not fall at all. The talk has been that he is struggling to make 160 and will move after this fight anyway. It's a good risk/reward proposition for him. Khan, how many times has be been knocked out now? Fighting guys like Canelo can't be doing his health in the future much good.

Khan head a better resume and Canelo doesnt hit nearly as hard as GGG.

However, Eubanks chin is iron compared to Khan and he isnt stepping up two weight classes, in fact he is the bigger man.

Only have to see what Golovkin did against Lemieux to see how this fight pans out.

Took a handful of meaningful punches (from a bigger puncher than Jr imo) and bossed the fight behind that evil looking jab.

More people giving CEJ a good chance than I thought. I just don't see him keeping GGG honest. Lemieux, Stevens and Macklin hit a lot harder and I didn't see the slightest flicker of distress.
I still think CEJ has at least a problem with his fuel gauge. He nearly gassed again against Doran and followed it up with a very quiet round. That's a dangerous tactic if used against better opposition.
There is also the assumption that Sr has somehow passed on a literal granite chin. This is definitely unproven against a decent hitter.
Either way. I'm excited and hope Jr shows us all something special

Rounds 1 and 2 were just straight show boating rounds by CEJ, then he dominated 3 and TKO'd him in 4? I don't think there was a round where he had a chance to gas? Are you sure you are not being a bit harsh in your assessment?

Lemieux and Stevens probably hit harder punch for punch than CEJ but neither had the speed or self belief to actually utilize it against GGG. Stevens landed several flush shots that shook GGG to his boots but they were late in the piece and Stevens was beat up and tired by that stage, so I don't think they were full force any way. A fresh Stevens would have dropped GGG tbh. Macklin is a far weaker puncher than CEJ that is quite a poor comparison I think.

Jr's chin has proved to be good at worst and he has good head movement and his offense is good enough to keep GGG guessing so he won't be able to just stand and bang without thinking about whats coming back like he has done in most of his fights until now.
