Broner achieved success at lower weights because he was a we fighting much smaller guys than him. Out of GGG's supposed 5 amateur losses, and 300 something *coughbull***** wins, he has one of each to Andre Dirrell. Name me a fighter on that level Broner could beat, legit beat, am or pro.

Dirrell is a bigger wasted talent in a sense that he was much more gifted than Broner is.

Broner is a bigger waste in a sense that there was so much hype behind him, and he managed to screw that up along with all the chances given to him. He could have made low tens of millions of dollars per fight if he chose his opposition more carefully , stayed at 130-135 and played on the hype surrounding him.

    Dirrell
Skillset hand speed just a shame he didn't like fighting and was mentally not built for the fight game

Lucky to have found dr shawhigh though
    Who fixed his brain damage

Andre Berto and Andre Dirrell are the two biggest wastes of talent I can think of right now. Both much more So than Broner. They were THE ROCKSTARS in the US amateur circuit when we were growing up. They both tanked it badly as pros not even within sneezing distance of the expectations on them, but a lot of people dont really realize how incredibly physically and athletically gifted they both were when they were younger. Dirrell was absolutely electrifying.

One is a multi-weight world champion

The other had bags of talent and "won" one world title by DQ to then get stopped in the rematch....

Part of me thinks that Teofimo Lopez or Josh Kelly might be the next Broner or Dirrell. Just something about their mentality and their flash over substance style gives me that same vibe. But we'll see how they do in the long run.

100% agree. Both are loaded and I mean overflowing loaded with talent but I think that hindered their development. Totally style over substance, though Lopez has more substance, but IMO Kelly is actually the more gifted of the two.

Broner IMO reached his full potential. Possibly exceeded it in terms of accomplishments.

Watching these highlights makes me sad to see how far down these guys went. So much talent wasted. When Broner let his hands go he did look really good. And Dirrell really did look like magic for a bit.
