These and other Cubans who defected and turned pro really make you appreciate what Lara has done in his career. I've been a harsh critic of the guy in the past, but he's probably one of the most underrated and hard done by fighters in boxing, also developed a more fan friend style as he's gotten older.

    Definitely Gamboa.

He could be undefeated featherweight champion. He was the 'Mike Tyson of Featherweight'. But bad advices, wrong attitude, wrong choice of career path have made messed up everything and turned him from a potential HOFer into B-class boxer.

Rigo, on the other hand, has reached his golden era by being the undisputed of his weight class. His mistake, IMHO, is to become a recluse for 2 years after his 'no mas' event. He could make a good use of those time to regain his form and fame.

Rigo probably had more talent but he used it more often and in bigger fights. Gamboa just sat out his prime so I'd say he got less use per unit of talent (don't know what u'd call that  where is CST80 when u need him?).

Gamboa atleast Rigo beat Donaire who's going to be a HOF boxer.

Bump. Is it time for these 2 to finally hang them up? Couldn't help but feel sad to see Gamboa, who was once a physically talented fighter, reduced to being ragdolled.

At least with Gamboa, he fought in some really good fights and always fought top talent. I feel Rigo was a masterful boxer but just wasnt very fun to watch. I mean some of his fights if theyre not against top talent i dont even bother watching. Both did great things in boxing so niether of them really are a waste of talent imo.
