This is a close one for me, but I have to say Valero. I know a lot of people aren't so big on Edwin, but I believe he had the potential to be an all-time great. Ike too, by the way. Ike had a style that would have presented trouble for the great Lennox Lewis, but I can't say that he would've been victorious. Both fighters were just reaching their peaks, so it is really all a matter of opinion. This is a good thread topic though. Like I said, I think it is a close call.

    Valero was a two-division champion.

    Imo, Ibeabuchi therefore.

    He was?

Ayala was far more skilled than Valero, and he was only 20 so he had room to improve.

Valero was like 27-28. He was what he was.

    Ayala had far more potential.

That means jack ****. He beat absolutely nobody.

Wins over Tua and Byrd destroy Valero's resume.

Ike---- strong, loved the combat. Would have made some incredible fights. Just a thought,,,,, did his mental problems help his boxing prowess? He seemed to be a machine in the ring. Earlier post=== Holyfield vs. Ike . wow. a dream fight

Valero was never ever ever gonna be the southpaw Tszyu.

Tszyu acquired skill from being a brilliant amateur that Valero was never gonna acquire.

Valero was in his late 20s. He wasnt 19. He was at his peak when he died, and he was set to face Bradley in a fight where Tim woulda kicked his ass all over the ring.
