Em tough call Mikey was a good small man fighting a good big man. I'd say in my eyes Kell Brook, who is a solid fighter in his own right!

Ask yourself this question, how would you Gennady Golovkin vs Mikey Garcia look? Not a pleasant thought is it? That's your answer.

Er. Brook is the only world class fighter Spence has fought his own size. Granted it wasn't anywhere near the best version of him what with him coming off a stoppage loss, a bad beating, a terrible eye injury and gruesome surgery to repair it (surgeons having to remove his eye via his mouth to repair the broken bone, which caused him a great deal of psychological trauma because he didn't even know if he would be able to see out of the eye for sure after that or obviously continue with his career), and back down from 160 after bulking up to fight up there (and everyone knows that making 147 before then was absolute murder for him).

And yes the vicious head clash in round 8 against Spence was pivotal and if it isn't what initially injured his non good boy'd injured eye it sure as hell exacerbated it from being a minor to a major problem and caused it to swell up dramatically << and that's a FACT, btw.

At least Brook was actually his own size and not a career 140 pounder Paulie level featherfist or a blown up 135 pounder who had zero right being at 147, was pudgy Pete down at 135, and was fighting in his 5th weight class and had every physical disadvantage against him (height, reach, power, weight) and not by a little bit either. And to his credit Spence did beat damaged goods Brook in his backyard too.
