Bigger's Better XXV: Poprad, Slovakia RBR

Weird style, heavily influenced by his kickboxing background. He basically defeated Perk on hustle & gas tank more than skill.

I don't know enough about Bot's stamina to pick the final...

 

This WKN match is vaguely entertaining. Lots of swiveling corkscrew/roundhouse kicks, and mostly jabbing with their hands. I've barely seen any straight kicks or hooked punches through almost three complete rounds.

(oh and they're only 2" rounds)

 

Pavel Garaj, the Slovakian, has captured the WKN 74kg title.

 

Bigger's Better XXV Final: Lucian Bot vs. Lukas Horak, 3 rounds @ heavyweight

 

Neither of them are punchers. (or, um, kickers or elbowers...)

Horak - rated #14 by the WBC in Muay Thai - is 38-6-1 (8.) in that sport.

We are probably in for a full nine minutes of action.

 

Round 1

Horak is flurrying in on Bot, sending the jab up a ski-lift as he runs short circles around him. Bot turns and tries to fix his jab on the elusive Horak. Bot is staggered by a curving left-right combo thrown over his jab. Horak is falling in with hooks and tying up, diving past Bot's jab and plugging the body. Bot has a cut on his left eye.

Round 2

Horak puts up a high jab to fake Bot out, then dives in with a right to the body. Bot moves in with a right hand but abandons it as Horak starts twisting at the waist throwing upward hooks. Time out. Bot lost his gum shield. Time in. Horak presses in and slips the Bot jab by leaning back. Right hand on the chin by Horak. Lefts and rights landing for Horak, leaning deeply to either side to make Bot's jab sail by harmlessly. Bot is getting stung by shots, rattled nearly off balance. Uppercut by Horak. Bot is pushed against the ropes. Horak leans to his right and jabs between Bot's gloves. Hard right by Horak wobbles Bot. Horak is drilling Bot in the corner with jabs on the nose and right hands to the body. Bot's head is snapping back with his eyes shut or rolled up by the rocketing shots of Horak, rising up from his hips. Wild decapitation right hand by Bot, slipped and countered by Horak with a quick lean and roll. Lunging line drive right hand by Horak, snapping Bot's head back. Hard jab by Horak.

Round 3

Horak is banging the face of Bot with the up-jab stepping inside. Bot shoves him away and lines up his own jab, but Horak ducks it and gets close, slinging up lefts and rights on the chin. Uppercut to the body and left hook on the mouth by Horak as Bot is trying to locate him with a jab. Counter left hook & right hand by Horak, countering past Bot's jab. Horak leans to his right and jabs, but is too distanced to land now with Bot moving away. Bot pushes out a triple jab but gets nailed on the nose with a long right hand by Horak jumping in. Bot deflects a jab by pushing out both arms but is rocked back from a lunging Horak right hand follow-up. Horak's aggressive jab slides off Bot's left bicep as he turns while backing up. Bot lands a jab and hooks off it as Horak presses in, catching him. Bot hooks as Horak approaches, then pushes away once he is close enough to get some leverage. Horak keeps jabbing in.

Is this normal? I swear in the past they only did three even for the finals in BB...

Horak is jabbing up into Bot's neck and slashing at the body with his right. Bot doubles his jab with each step while moving laterally. Clinches are split by Smoger. Uppercut inside by Horak. Double jab by Bot, countered by a left hook up top from Horak while leaning to his left. Left hook to the body by Bot.
