Don't be spoiled, though, next time you check out a BB - usually there is a much lower talent pool. Maslobojev is a stud the likes of which you generally don't see on these.

Of course, if you tune in next month for the "King of 2013" special it will all be good match-ups featuring guys on the bubble of actually being world fringe contenders. (all the year's tourney winners squaring off in an ultimate tourney)

    Round 1

Briedis is circling wide and letting Suda march to him, then popping the jab between his gloves or landing a left hook on the body while still moving. Suda is coming in with the goal posts up, sticking out the high jab and moving his head side to side, trying to place his lead foot between Briedis' to catch him off-balance. Briedis is too quick and agile to fall for it.

    10-9 Briedis

    Round 2

Briedis is squatting and placing a straight jab into Suda's forehead, keeping his pinky and thumb sticking out to either side with no turn-over, more of a push-jab. Suda is circling and holding up his guard, waiting for a spot to counter. Briedis is doubling the jab now coasting to his left, dropping in a long right hand as he widens his stance and gains some distance. Suda presses behind the up-jab from his peekaboo guard. Suda dives in with a 1-2 and gets ducked, but quickly moves his gloves down to intercept a parting counter body jab from Briedis. Suda walks nearly into an overhand right and jumps backward at the last moment, with Breidis chasing him out with a left hook downstairs that just misses. Combos into the guard and right hand slaps to the body by Briedis.

    10-9 Briedis

    20-18 Briedis

Gotta say, I was genuinely surprised at Maslos skill given what had been on before. I'd kinda overlooked B'sB cos of the fighters involved, but it's a OK sorta event - certainly fun. Ring girls don't hurt either..

    Round 3

Briedis is jabbing in on Suda and beginning to put together long combinations of cudgeling rights and lefts. Suda covers up stingily, absorbing the shock and not giving any free openings. Suda is pressed back nearly to the ropes but stops short and comes in with a chopping right. Briedis melts down away from it and returns with a boomerang combo to the body. Suda is taking fake-out steps inside with his jab and then resetting at arm's length. Briedis isn't taking his bait. Lunging 1-2-1 by Suda leaping inside. Breidis backs him out with a jab. BIG right hand by Breidis, bending Suda's neck sharply as he backs up and takes some of the edge off it by moving with it rather than against. Briedis is jabbing and uppercutting through Suda's guard, making steady contact. Briedis is dropping in single right hands on the body. Suda drops his gloves and raises them by turns, keeping a watch on Briedis and hoping to time him with something but not daring to strike first.

    10-9 Briedis

    30-27 Briedis

I actually find it more consistently entertaining than Prizefighter, to be perfectly honest. :conf

(though it definitely is a low-rent version, which is saying a mouthful :!:)

    Round 4

Briedis is trading jabs on the outside with Suda, changing directions after walking hemispheres around him. Briedis is doubling the jab and Suda has the mitts up to catch it. Suda takes a confident step inside but doesn't herald his arrival with a punch, and so Briedis takes the lead and lands a few nice meaty body shots. Briedis circles away from the ropes landing another right on the body. Suda is walking forward, earmuffs on. Briedis ducks a right hand and moves left. Double jab by Briedis, poked in from mid-range. Briedis tosses a light right hand lead, similar to a jab, range-finding. Suda is marching and breaking his gloves apart to peek at Briedis, who tries to shoot the gap with his jab. Right to the body by Briedis.

    10-9 Briedis

    40-36 Briedis

    Round 5

Briedis is dropping in right hands behind the jab, as Suda covers up and takes it. A couple of right hands by Suda back Briedis off but don't really connect. Left hook to the body by Briedis. Suda hurries inside, not wanting to let Briedis get full extension on any more of those. Big chopping right by Briedis, discouraging Suda from moving in to clinch. More head and body taps by Briedis, piling them on until Suda backs up and takes a knee in a corner. Smoger gets halfway into his count. Suda marches forward, earmuffs back on. Suda wants to hold. Briedis is dancing away, keeping Suda at the end of his jab and looking for one more big right hand to set up a finish, telegraphing his intentions but unconcerned as Suda is making his own strategy to get inside very obvious. Jabs bounce off Suda's guard as Briedis keeps the distance and whips in a few rights on the side of Suda's head. Suda goes down to a knee again on a delayed reaction from a temple shot. He is up once more. Combo by Briedis. BIG chopping right by Briedis. Suda moves in and lands his own straight right, fighting desperately.

    10-7 Briedis

    50-43 Briedis

Heck of a brave rally, though. He got in a hellish right hand of his own just before the bell after having been used for target practice by a strong young dude.

Suda quits on his stool, or his corner yanked him.

Now watch as Huck ducks the unification everyone wants to see. :verysad

He will probably cherry-pick a Lebedev rematch instead.
