leonard for some reason is a fighter that as good as he was i never really took too ,my perception of him put me off but skill wise amazing

 

you're not the first person to feel that way about leonard, me included

 

Ali over Foreman.

Frazier faced an Ali that had re-entered the scene, facing three quick battles. Ali was great at that point, yet he was still a long way behind Frazier in physical strength. Frazier faced a soft Ali in FOTC.

Frazier was a slob versus Foreman in Jamaica. Nuff said.

Frazier over Ali for me, but I'm enjoying the debate!

 

I'd say:

1. Ali-Foreman
2. Foreman-Frazier
3. Frazier-Ali

Ali-Foreman: I think Foreman is the one with the least quality out of these three, but he was at his peak while Ali was seven years past his. They were both also very well prepared, but Ali won it in a conclusive fashion.

Foreman-Frazier: Frazier had passed his peak and was poorly prepared, but no ATG HW have ever been dominated like this while in his prime or at least reasonably close to it. There is a very decent argument to have this as nr. 1 and had Frazier been well prepared I would without a doubt have it there.

Frazier-Ali: Frazier clearly defeated the best HW in history. That goes a long way. But it was extremely hard fought and it was against an Ali that had recently come out of a 3,5 year lay-off. He was still very, very good, but just as Frazier clearly wasn't at his best for Foreman the same is true for Ali here. He looked winded already in the second round.

There's not much between nr. 1 and nr. 3 here, though. I think any order here is plausible actually, but this is mine today.

ali over foreman... taking age into account.. foreman still prime ali not anymore.. looking at the odss before the fight..
but i am not taking away anything from the other fighters. frazier beating ali was a great achievement.. great fight also..
and the way foreman beat frazier was also a big achievement..
but ali over foreman tops it. for me at least

Since they are all top 10 ATG Heavyweights, i ranked the wins according to how close the fighter beaten was to their Peak. For instance:

'74 Foreman was Peak.

'71 Ali was past-prime, but young, fast & an amazing fighter.

'73 Frazier was badly past-prime, but it was a shocking obliteration of the undefeated Champion.

the frazier that beat ali that first time was an awesome fighting machine.its hard not to have him in your top 5 based on that night.
