What is the biggest age discrepancy in a world's title fight? I have a good idea on this but could be wrong .

It depends, I think, on when Archie Moore was born!

According to his IBHOF profile, he was born on December 13, 1913 - and would then have been 21 years and 22 days older than Patterson, when they met for the vacant crown in 1956.

However, if he was born 3 years later (BoxRec) the age difference would of course be correspondingly less - and in that case my guess would be the Foreman-Morrison WBO title fight, with an age difference of almost exactly (just 8 days short) 20 years.

My guess would be George Foreman vs Shannon Briggs (lineal hwt title fight). Big George had approximately 22 years and 11 months on Shannon.

If the Boxrec dates are correct, Morrison was born in January, 1969 and Briggs was born in December, 1971.

Benitez - Cervantes would have been about 13 years difference. In other words, 75% of Wildredo's entire life at that stage :scaredas:

The difference in age between Duran and Joppy was actually only 19 years and 3 month - but good enough for 3rd place on a Top-5 list (if Moore was born in 1916!):

    Foreman/Morrison 20 years
    Foreman/Schulz 19 years, 10 months
    Duran/Joppy 19 years, 3 months
    Foreman/Moorer 18 years, 10 months
    Hopkins/Murat 18 years, 8 months

Edit: AlFrancis found Zaragoza/morales (18 years, 9 months) - which beats Hopkins/Murat for 5th place by 1 month.
