Lockett vs. pavlik is the first one that springs to mind.

    Please all-knowing one... enlighten us.

If a fight where one guy is getting hit at will, getting strafed by right-hand leads at will, and every punch in the book, whilst not landing anything themself... a fight where a fighter renowned for their heart and determination is forced to stay on the stool after only 6 rounds because he was getting absolutely humiliated... if that's not a mis-match, then what is?

    margo-cotto and pbf-hatton weren't true mismatches

    i'll say calzaghe-lacy and pbf-gatti

mis-match to me comes before the fight. a match that shouldn't be made. gatti - mayweather doesn't qualify because it was expected to be a close fight , it was mayweathers pure brilliance that made it what it was.

    I see.

Well by that interpretation you may be right. But I don't agree with your interpretation. When I watch Ali-Terrell I know that Terrell was the WBA title holder and a very good fighter, but that doesn't change the fact that I sit there shaking my head after the fight saying "what a bloody mismatch". Totally different classes of fighter.

    Each to their own though.

    Exactly.

None of those on the list count as mismatches.

Pavlik v Lockett is a good example. Lockett had shown absolutely nothing previously to justify such a fight.

    Gatti-Mayweather EASILY...

On Gatti's best day and Floyd's worst day, I think floyd would wreck him and win every round/tko him.

For any other of those fights I cant say that.

PBF - Gatti on that list.
Otherwise I thought of Tyson - Marvis Frazier

Why is Margarito vs Cotto on the list? Nobody can describe that as a mismatch

Definately Gatti - Mayweather from the list, but what you forgot to put in was Calzaghe - Manfredo, Calzaghe - Lacy, Pavlik - Lockett, Cotto - Gomez and that is just naming a few.

How can Calzaghe - Lacy be included, that was a unification fight between two champions and Lacy was a fairly strong favourite going in?!

Pacquiao vs De La Hoya may well be a contender after the 6th, but for now my vote goes to Barrera vs Ventura. I don't think Ventura landed or made a genuine attempt to do so for the 4 rounds it lasted.
