At the time Benn/Watson was bigger than Benn/EubankI. McGuigan/McDonnell was a pretty big domestic encounter, certainly on par with a few you have mentioned.

McGuigan/McDonnell is a good shout but I have to diasgree about Benn/Watson being bigger than Benn/Eubank I!
Eubank was unproven going into the bout. Watson had beaten a then world class operator (Dangerous Don), so those in the know put a few pennies on Watson, and the 'Who's Bad?' advertising was everywhere. 'I'm going to get Eu/ I'm quite simply the best' thing did not really catch on the same, as Benn was such a warm favourite, and Eubank not so well known.
Boxing has been dying for 20 years, so in context of the time period it was a big domestic bout. But, it hardly caught the imagination of the public, like fights past.
