Jack Johnson deserves a mention. He was not above enforcing his own justice against civilians over more or less serious matters.
Although not a champ, Bonavena was another one up there. I don't know if it's an irony or not, but you had Monzon/Galindez/Bonavena all with that trait in roughly the same timeframe.
Stevie, don't underestimate John L Sullivan when he wasn't in his cups. Sober he was a force in his peak. Probably the equal of a Marciano in strength. John Barleycorn was his downfall.:good
See Dick the Bruiser critizing HW division in the early 60s. See Dick smacked to the pavement by Sonny Liston outside the Thunderbird Hotel in Vegas. See Dick crumpled in fetal position saying "I just wanna go home now." Tyson smacks body builder. ...does this constitue bullying...? Great champion avoids #1 contender Cocoa Kid and faces relative set-up he knows he can beat. Is he a bully? Angelo Dundee says Liston and Duran are bullies after his fighters defeat them, after all, hey, it makes for good press. But does that make them bullies...?
If you know about how Bummy checked out at Brownsville's Duddy's Bar, you'll agree he ain't no "bully."
S, by coincidence, I saw Bummy Davis and his wife in a restaurant about one month before, his untimely death at Duddy's Bar on Remsen Ave. He dropped 3 0f the hold-up men ,though shot, and with the last bullet in his neck, chased them out of the bar, where he collapsed and died. An authentic tough guy was Bummy, and the best left hooker i ever saw...
I reckon its probably....Foreman With Tyson, remember this was a guy that used to get bullied when he was younger They used to call him fairy boy
Wrong! He came into a bar in NYC said the same thing and got his ass kicked by a white bartender, the Snow brothers great grandfather. The Snow bro's who now run Trinity Gym in NYC and L.A. Check out their website :good
