Michael Bennett was the 2000 Olympic Captain. Defeated Felix Savon in 1999, also holds a walk over win versus Savon. Went pro and was ko'd 4 times in less than 20 fights.

Malcom Tann was the 2002 National Golden Gloves Super Heavyweight Champ. Holding victories over Nathiel James, who ironically should be added to this list of heavyweight busts, and Derrick Kaisershot. Kaisershot finished his amatuer career with a record of 99-3.

Bobick held an amatuer win over Cuban great Stevenson

The Saturday Night Live skit of Bobick getting KO'd by Norton was hilarious.

Didn't Bobick sign Joe Frazier as his manager...???

    Dominic "The Southern Disaster" Guinn

He had the makings of being a really good heavyweight, but suddenly suffered a complete mental lapse and became a never-was. The kid had a lot of potential, but never got with the right team to bring him to the peak of his abilities.

So many American amateur successes like Estrada Guinn Brock Walker and others

Don't get why they can be so good in the ams and be bad pros

Are they poorly managed? Did the am scene domestically die

    Did they not succeed internationally

I actually had a bet in the late nineties with a friend that Sinan Samil Sam would be heavyweight champ, and he picked Guinn.

My God we were miles off.

Tyrell Biggs, Olympic and World amateur champion with wins over Tyson and Lewis as an amateur. But his pro career was ruined by alcohol and drug addiction.

The number one bust is Audley Harrison.

    1 Olympic gold medalist
    2 Very good boxing skills
3 Ideal size at 6'6 and 250lbs plus with a huge 86 inch reach
    4 Southpaw

He should have been a nightmare for any other heavy just a shame he fought with so much fear the very definition of a cowardly lion.

Sam was a better guess than Guinn.

Ed Sanders 1952 Olympic boxing heavyweight champion. 8th fight collapses into a coma, bleeding on the brain, dies in surgery.

Also, Michael Grant, Audley Harrison. Jameel McCline and Andrew Golota could have been great if they weren't such head cases.

Frazier was an 'investor' in Bobick. Bobick also stopped Larry Holmes in the Olympic trials.
