because of the circumstances I would say Taylor/Froch was a bigger choke then say Taylor/Pavlik simply because he was 15 seconds away from winning, and fatigue aside blew it. but isn't boxing very hard to determine what is "choking" or not .. as other sports it's who doesn't make the play, misses the wide open shot, free throw etc which are very easy to see and therefore labeled as choking where with boxing it's who gets cocky, loses focus .. or sometimes just gets knocked out ... as someone already said ** but regarding the choking topic, to an extent I'd also call Collazo/Berto a choke as well, as in that fight, there were rounds Collazo gave away .. particularly the last 2. and in a close fight, as 2 of the official judges not to mention many other boxing writers aside, you cannot afford to do that. if Judah's a choker for giving up rounds vs Badly .. I see it the same way in regards to Collazo vs Berto. Granted Judah's was more noticeable, but it's the same idea, giving the rounds away, and making it easier for your opponent to catch up on the cards.
Wow are you serious. What a ****ing joke. Shows where your IQ really is. Dork. Let me explain and school your little dumb ass. What is the form of nervousness and where does it derive from?? A psychological state of mind, nervousness is characterized by a feeling of restlessness, apprehension and worry. Contrary to fear, in such a situation, there is no form of external threat present. However, excessive nervousness is harmful and may cause physical, emotional, psychological as well as cognitive impairment in a person. So for a person that has ever boxed before would know such things. So i can tell you dont know **** you're talking about. For our second part in schooling fools today is this, what are symptoms of nervousness? Symptoms Of Nervousness Confusion Dizziness or lightheadedness Dry mouth Extremely fast heartbeat Fatigue Fear of losing control Feeling of apprehension Foreboding or dread Gastrointestinal problems Insomnia Irritation Feeling unreal or disconnected with the world Insecurity Inability to perform daily tasks Lack of concentration Muscle aches Nausea or abdominal pain Palpitations Pounding heart Chest pain Sensation of choking Shortness of breath Stress/ tension Sweaty hands Trembling Upset stomach So you ignorant ****. Next time speak on something you know instead of running your mouth about JACK ****!!! Next time do your research KID!!!!(This goes out to BAZOOKA) :****off
:fire:fire:fireANGRY POST! well yeah...but in common language nerves does not refer to the described state of nervousness. it's a more general term for things like letting the pressure get to you, allowing the gravity of the situation, punches from a pro fighter, fear of a loss, etc. Nerves in this cause involves many of the same things you might encounter going into a test at school: sweaty hands, shortness of breath and fatigue. you WILL encounter those in a fight and they WILL affect your performance.
Whos talking about common language. Nerves PERIOD is what i post. It all comes from your mental. How do you get nervous??? What triggers nerves??? those are questions you need to answer. It all comes from thought process to send the signal to the body. to cause shake dizziness sweaty hands fatigue FEAR. SON do the research :!:
ok...so if what you're saying is that your nerves affects your physical state (ie: being nervous can affect your fatigue) then we're in agreement. I was a little confused by your post. BTW: Calling people "son" just makes you sound like an ass. Doesn't help your argument
Def it speaks for itself. So we are in agreement. No disrespect. I'm just talking like they are one of my good friends. Just like talking in a bar or babershop. You talk sh1t and trip out. Nothing serious. (BOZOOKA, and the other dude) Just good politics.
cheers, no worries. But wow, you seemed pretty pissed:scaredas: either way i definitely agree with the argument. one of the reasons duran and toney were SO ****ing good is they stayed very focused and detached during fights. mentally they were so good that physically, they could operate at their peak for a whole fight (until they got fat)
John Tate getting parked in rd 15 by Weaver in '80......... Taylor against Chavez is high up there, too...... MR.BILL
Yes i really was dude. I box myself and i know how i feel sometimes. And im just being honest. You know that is the problem with a lot of us boxers. We can hype ourself up and all the people around us..... But once we get in the ring. It's a whole nother ball game. Because if you're not ready you know it and if you're beat you know it. So the mind triggers a lot. to be honest i think its your worst enemy, and the second runner up to that is your self. I totally agree. you're right that is why they were so good.:thumbsup
If you wanna get technical about it, the emotions that cause nervousness or anxiety etc (which are generally the same thing) comes from the reptillian part of the human brain that controls biologically hardwired responses or emotions such as fight or flight. To be quite honest, the human brain is biologically designed for a culture and society that existed 60-80 thousand years ago. The emotions that we currently have were built for survival and procreation, as well as survival of offspring. Emotions are often times not even relevent in todays society. There is no need to worry about being attacked by a wild tiger etc. This obviously isnt something new or groundbreaking, however, this is why you see most boxers coming into the ring extremely focused. If they let their emotions take control of them it burns energy and therefore they will gas out. Or for example in this argument, their mind will go blank they will make a stupid move and get knocked out. That is pretty much the essence of "choking". Whether its from nerves or being arrogant and sticking your chin out, stupidly taking rounds off because you think you have the fight won, its still choking. How close the fight was or how known t he fighters are doesnt matter. If one fighter has the correct tools and/or is picked to win and doesnt, its considered choking.
Basicly. You just took what i said and went in depth with it. But yes. I agree. But that cat was saying nerves didnt have anything to do with the mind. LMFAO:rofl How rediculous that sounds. So thanks a lot for breaking it down even more for those that dont know. Great post.:thumbsup
