wo...sends a shiver down me every time the memory of that one.
i thought takaloo had him finished with a wicked, wicked looking shot to the body that looked like it nearly split alexander in half...then a few seconds later..boom!!...

over here we had a great comeback in dunne v cordoba...but i shouldnt really mention it on a british thread

    Thompson v Rothman.

CT getting battered all night long, He did have Rothman down earlier but it just give him a break from having his head pounded. Later on the commentators and everyone seemingly wanting CT pulled out, hurt and in trouble the ref watching very closely probably seconds from stopping it then................BANG!

Very satisfying for the old war horse mainly because Rothman was goading the whole fight. I ****ing hate it when fighters do that.

Julian Jackson taking out Bomber was great drama and I also recall Mickey Hughes, a mile behind on points, crunching Gary Jacobs with a beautiful short left hook late in the fight. Jacobs was out cold. Oklahoma journeyman Buck Smith catching up with and sparking Kirkland Laing over here in 1990 was quite amusing. In the same year in Manchester, Panamanian bantamweight Mauricio Martinez came back from the brink of disaster to crush Nicaragua's unbeaten (all by knockout) Lester Fuentes for the WBO bantamweight title...
