I agree that Watson won the first fight, Eubank was damn lucky that night and I believe he's admitted it himself since. Eubank also admitted immediately after the 2nd fight that he'd been given 'a pasting' and was lucky to have won.

I'm not sure what you mean about the 'demanding Watson be tested' though, I remember that post fight interview with Eubank like it was yesterday and Eubank was being very classy, as I said he admitted Watson gave him a pasting and made a remark about Watson saying he wasn't on steroids he was on kryptonite because he was like fighting superman. It was an ill-chosen comment I admit but any idiot could see that it was a compliment to a defeated fighter. However he was being interviewed by Gary Newbon that night, who is a an absolute ****-sucker of the highest order and he sniffed a headline and went with it in all the papers the next day, despite Watsons condition. Eubank wasn't the **** that night, Gary ****ing Newbon was. If you ever get chance to see the interview again you'll see Newbon harangueing Eubank after that remark saying "are you calling for Watson to be tested for steroids?" and Eubank shaking his head and trying to get a word in saying "that's NOT what I meant" but Newbon kept talking over him, like the egotistical **** that he is.

Newbon used to be head of sport on Central TV down here and was a regular fixture in the pubs/clubs/restaurants in the city centre and I've never heard anyone say a good word about the man, an absolute wanker.

He called for Watson to be "tested...nobody can be that strong". He might have been classy otherwise and it wasn't like he knew that Watson was fighting for life at the time of the interview.
