Yes, they were. It was Oakland, Ward's hometown, the entire stadium went wild when Ward came out.

Unluckily for you, I did check it out. That's when I found out it didn't happen. Attendance 8000. Oops :patsch

That was discussed on Fight Camp 360 - apparently no-one realised until Ward came out and said it. I'm pretty sure Goosen had to give something up as a result because they threatened to replace Ward with someone else.

I'm also sure Ward won't get all his fights in the US now.

Either way, it's not cause he's the draw. Froch, Kessler and Arthur all stand to make a fortune from the gate. Ward will make a fraction of that money.

I never stated otherwise. You said that Miranda had ,at the very least by my interpretation, a substantial amount of fan support that night in Oakland and i said i don't agree with that. It was an entirely pro Ward crowd.

Taylor is the most well known and AA, Kessler and Froch have very big fan base in their hometowns. I Think Kessler brought 10000 fans to the UK for his fight with Calzaghe and I doubt any of the Americans could achieve that fighting away from home.

Kessler can fill bigger stadiums than Ward but he is fighting in the states because each fighter in the super 6 has to fight away at some point.

And I believe you, but I assumed the guy wouldn't lie about the attendance. Knowing that Ward would never draw 19.000 I thought logically Miranda played a part in drawing such a large crowd. Obviously he didn't cause there newer were 19.000 at that fight.

    1. Abraham - In germany abraham is pretty big. I dont know how many stadiums he sells out but, people in germany like boxing alot, so i know abraham is up their.

1.b Kessler - Kessler makes alot of money in Denmark because hes the only guy they have right now thats any good at sports

    2. Taylor - I agree he WAS the biggest, but after 2 devestating KO losses he dosent have the same following anymore

    3. Froch - People for some reason don't seem to like him in the UK.

3.b Ward - Popular for an american, but lets face it, hes not an international star like kess or abraham.

    4. Direll - A nobody :-(

    1. Kessler
    2. Abraham
    3. Froch/Taylor

I think Kessler and Abraham have to be ranked at the top here. I'd give Kessler the edge because internationally he is better known. On the other hand, Abraham will draw 6-7 million viewers on Germany tv on Saturday, which is more than the entire popularion of Denmark, so all is relative. ;)
