Because the fights are on in the evening, probably on free to air TV. In the UK the biggest fights are on PPV. In the scheme of things hardly anyone watches boxing any more. They would rather have 50-60k PPV than millions of viewers and advertising revenue on ITV.
That's a good show and all the promoters came out with a lot of credit for working together for the good of the sport except Dan Goosen who struck me as being an *******, Lou DiBella gave up a ton of ground to get this thing off the ground, Kalle Saureland has his man on the plane to Oakland, Dirrell is fighting in Notingham and Goosen won't even make a phonecall atsch
1: Kessler/Abraham (both big draws in europe) 3: Froch/Taylor (the froch win would have boosted him in america, at least somewhat, and taylor is on the decline in terms of popularity) 5: Ward/Dirrell (not particularly big draws but ward is somewhat more accomplished) how can anyone have ward top
Has there ever been an American boxer that had a following who would travel overseas ? or even travel a distance within America itself? I doubt it. Like a band of supporters that travelled around with hatton ,calzaghe ,etc
Kessler and Abraham are the biggest draws, followed by roch.Ward and Dirrell are not draws, even in their own backyard. How did Ward get all 3 fights on home turf?Goosen must have paid the opponenets big time for this advantage.
You don't half post some absolute nonsense at times. Kessler and Abraham, easy. Kessler apart from the ticket sales more importantly can do PPV in Denmark and believe me they will pay through the roof for it.
The biggest draw is either Kessler or Abraham. Both of them draw, draw being the operative word here, giant live gate and television audiences. There is a reason they are making more per fight than any of the other fighters.
