I too went for Hamed as a potential ATG feather, though I was young at the time he lost to MAB.

I had high hopes for Arthur Abraham, and actually picked him to win the super six after the first round of fights. I agree that it seems like he fell in love with his power, and underestimated the demands of fighting good boxers at 168. He should drop back down to 160 and try and revive his career.

Jeff Lacy, I really bought into the whole Tyson comparison.

Audley Harrison: never thought he'd be a great but maybe he might be able to cut it on the world stage. Even now I feel like he started the pro-game so late he might have been shot by his first loss (34 years old?).

Naseem Hamed wasn't a hype-job; what he did in boxing was fantastic, though short lived. In his pomp he was just excellent, he faded quickly through mental limitations. People who are only aware of him because of Barerra and his big US fights really don't know the full story.

I would say the same thing. I was Haye's biggest fan and it wasn't his defeat by wlad but until his lack of activity. It seems like he wanted the celebrity life and lost the hunger for boxing.

The guy started talked too much **** and lost his balls. I might still rate him if he start fighting again but I seriously doubt it. He seem to enjoy the soft life too much.

Ricardo Williams... and I think his abilities were real. He just didn't have the mind for the game. Dude was sliiiiiiiiick!

Panchito Bojado, to a lesser extent.

    Jermaine Taylor

For all the success he has had I feel like he could have had so much more. His athleticism and power was enough to dethrone Hopkins so once Steward took over, to put some skill behind his natural ability, I thought this dude was gonna be dominating for a long time. Too bad I didn't notice this guy has about as much Boxing IQ as Gatti. I love to see boxers improve there skills. And I absolutely hate to see them do the same stupid things in the ring fight after fight. Why waste the money and time with a trainer of Steward's caliber if your not going to listen to him. This guy had the tools to kill the competition. What a waste.

When a fighter fails to fulfill his potential that does not make him a hype job. A "hype job" is a guy like Abraham who never had any potential to fulfill, but had tons of people claiming he did.

+1 Couldn't have written it better myself. I really like JT, he had great natural ability and definitely the skills to compete at highest level unfortunately he can be his own worst enemy in the ring. I really thought despite the loss to Froch he would go into the super six and make amends.

Have to say Haye also. I don't like Haye, however I couldn't help but want him to beat Wladimir just for the good of the heavyweight division. He disappointed by his display of lack of desire, the purse was his drive in this fight and it showed.

He did compete at the highest level. Can't we all just assume that anyone who's captured a major title isn't a complete washout and hypejob?

I ****ing swear, next someone is going to come in and say JC Superstar because he lost a couple years to coke, booze and hookers.
