Many fights we'd love to see but something stands above all, can Calzaghe work his magic without getting stopped by Pavlik?
Calzaghe vs Pavlik? :rofl Come on.. Guzman vs Gamboa is the best fight that could be made in boxing today. Hopefully it could be made before Guzman gets too old and his reflexes severely decline. These two guys would be made for each other.. a perfect matchup of styles, talent, and personalities. There isn't a day that goes by when I don't think about the possibility of this fight next year.
Pavlik is considered the man at middle but big for the division, nobody at light heavy for calzaghe so make that fight it would be dynamite.
Even though I don't like either fighter, I would have to say that PBF vs. Cotto is the biggest and most intriguing match up out there. They are both in their primes and have two different styles that would probably mesh well together. Pavlik is still just at the beginning of his prime and Calzaghe is on the very tailend of his, if not actually on the downside. For that matter I think Pavlik really still needs 2-3 more fights before he could handle someone with the skill and experience of Calzaghe.
That would be a fight that would be easy to hype, two peoples champions. Unfortunately Calzaghe would make it a bad fight by making Pavlik look real bad. Joe would keep him off ballance and never let him set his feet to punch. Plus we all know Joe can take a punch. Pavlik is the man but Joe would kick his ass
