    Ali vs Liston II, I can't even think of another fight that compares to this sham.

    I agree, whatever the reason behind it Liston faked that. No way is a jab sprawling him out the way it did. I believe Ali won the first fight himself but the second fight was a complete sham, watching Liston roll about on the canvas was just embaressing. Some of the worst acting I've ever seen, guy wants to speak to Eduardo, learn how to dive....

    Ali Liston 2 was an obvious fix, and was recognized as such by most people. In trecent years, this 'Liston was a scared bully" nonsense has come up. Liston was tough, tougher than Ali for sure. He took on cops, prison gaurds, othe rinmates, and once fought to a decision loss with a broken jaw (Marty Marshall fight,, early in career.)
    Ali Liston one was a fix too. A guy does not quit on stool and give up title, especially a guy who had Liston's toughness. This coward, bullly, afraid stuff about Liston is bull****. Some writers at time pointed out that NOI guys were around Listons corner at time he quit. Liston had done time with many, and they were big at time. Ali announced after fight he was member, which was already known. Those two fights were biggest fixes in heavyweight, maybe in all of boxing, history.

    Maybe we need to have one thread on fixes where fights were thrown, another on croked or awful decisions.

    Lamotta Fox was famous one, and Pep suposedly took dive in one fight, he always denied it though. Was it Lulu Perez fight? If I got name right, that's embaressing. A ko by Lulu Perez sounds like a woman knocked him out.

    Yeah, he got knocked down 3 times and was banned from fighting in NY after that. He got hit with some nice right hands I must say.

    I was actually just reading an article that discusses this fight.

    Regarding Ali v Liston 2 i don't think that there's any doubt that Sonny lay down,although for what reason we don't know,but one thing for sure is Ali wasn't in on it.The biggest clue is in Ali's reaction when Liston goes down,he stands over Liston and several times gestures angrily for Liston to get up,and he actually has to be restrained by referee Jersey Joe Walcott. Afterwards Ali gave it the old "phantom punch" routine,but by then he'd probably been advised to go with the flow and keep stum!

    people on here seem to not understand what a fix is, RJJ vs the Korean? are yous suggesting the RJJ meant to loose? sure doesn't look that way. I think the title mean more not what fights were robberies, but what fights were fights were the one figured took a dive on purpose.
