    which boxers names rile you when theyare mentioned as all time greats even though they have **** poor resume's or no signature wins in their careers.joe louis eas no doubt good but he should have been locked up for fighting the bums he did and there have been many hw fighters since that would have not lost a fight in that era

    joe louis was no dout a top fighter but not in the same league as ali as a lot of ppl suggest

    If you even knew the maginitude of his fights with Schmelling and the pressure he must've been under then people might be able to take you more seriously as a poster.

    Calling Joe Louis a "fraud" is a laughable disgrace......

    louis isnt a fraud but his resume is laughable.louis lost to schmelling who werent great then beat him.if schmelling is the best fighter on his resume then enough said.
    instead of pulling my post apart why dont you add a name of your own ?

    how about jack dempsey ? from the time he won the title to him losing it he fought 6 defences in 7 1/2 years before losing it to a lhw then lost to him again.tell me his 3 greatest victories then thell me he's great with a straight face

    You need to bear in mind that boxing was regulated far less stringently back then.You did what the Mob told/made you.I mean,Carnero was the most fraudulent champion (I know that's not what thread's about) and was there becuase the Mob PUT him there.I think a lot of the old champs had to fight bums because Carbo and co wanted those fights.

    Look at who Alis first loss came to and then compare it to the rest of the greats and see who they lost to.

    Tysons was to Douglas
    Lewis to Mcall
    Vitali to Byrd
    Wladmir to Purrity
    Holmes tp Michael Spinks

    Alis was to an undefeated Joe Frazier in his prime.
