Good for boxing worldwide !! Hey , that is great … But at the elite level it sucks .. So we can agree, that more people lacin em up is a good thing .. And the latter is obvious
My bad... I completely overlooked, that a proposed match between Crawford and McGregor is representative of ALL of boxing today.
Well since the top 3 guys Crawford, Thurman, and Spence won't get in the ring with each other … then hey, yeah that sucks right? … All good fight the good fight
You're right, that sucks bigtime... just like when Bowe and Lewis didn't fight each other. Or when LaMotta had to take a dive, to get a title shot. Not to mention when Dempsey ducked his #1 challenger throughout his 7 year reign. Every era has had their problems - not just the present one.
, If I say to you Lomo has all the qualities of a fighter that has all the skill level and physical ability to be great. But point out glaring and obvious facts of his poor competition or his lack of experience (15 pro fights) and his age,(31) and the unlikelyness of him developing much more because of this. Am I hating on Lomo? Or pointing out what should be obvious facts? Am I being bias for fighters form the past? Or are you failing to remove the blinders , and refusing to see the facts of his situation, thus your being bias? Look, I have argued for years on Dempsey not being the greatest fighter ever ( Hell a very good argument can be made against him not being the best fighter of his OWN era , when one looks at the FACT of him not fighting or allowed to fight black fighters, and their were many very good ones in his own era) I've said, and stand by on what film available he doesn't look that great . I've said many times J.Louis though he may have been the most offensively gifted heavyweight in history, But the FACTS of him being beaten in his prime by Schmeling, and the many knock downs he suffered against fighters that were nothing special , it would be unlikely he would beat a fighter like Lewis. And it wouldn't be Lewis's size , because Louis did defeat bigger fighters, it would be because of Louis not being able to take what's coming back at him. In my opinion that's pretty obvious if one looks at the facts without bias. I'm as impartial as anyone (Including you if those obvious facts about Lomo you can't see) when it comes to the fight game. I try to judge fighters strictly on what they do or have done in a boxing ring. I don't throw stuff on a wall and hope it sticks.... I point out what I see. And what I've seen in comparison.
Yes I did, but you did say" I criticized Loma, and I cant bring myself to say anything positive about fighters today" I give you a answer for my reasons. That are factual. But Then you go to "well I didn't bring up Loma". Which is no answer at all. You have a great day Sir.
I don't get it! When have I argued against the points you make about Loma? Why do you want to make it look like I'm disagreeing with you? So I ask you again: what blinders am I wearing?
The biggest misconception in boxing is that size is a defining and deciding factor in heavyweight contests. The joint biggest misconception in boxing is that size doesn't really have an effect on the outcome of a heavyweight contest. I'd say "close thread" but I could actually just close the thread, so I won't' say that.
Thurman is a million miles from top 3 right now. Porter and Spence fought last year and are both top 3 in my book.
