I have been a boxing fan since 2005 (9th grade) and I've never seen a fight so hyped as Mayweather-DLH.

After destroying Mayorga, 35-year old De la Hoya was a top contender at 154. Maywaether was the recent 147 champion. Superstar vs. Wannabe Superstar. The fight was not so great, but it had an aura of magnificence.

Hype is probably best reflected off the raw dollerage for a particular bout.

    Floyd dlh
    lewis tyson
    Floyd mosley
    Pac dlh
    Pac cotto
followed by variousl dlh headed fights

    floyd-dlh
    dlh-pac
    dlh-hopkins
    floyd-hatton
    pac-cotto
    pac-hatton
    mosley-floyd
    dlh-mosley
mosley-margarito i think was pretty big even though it wasn't on ppv. but they had more people in that building than any other time.

although i was very hyped for cotto-mosley and cotto-margarito 1.

I believe that you can pretty much statistically prove that it is Mayweather/De La Hoya.

No option comes close to Floyd/DLH. First 24/7 and all made it a can't miss. Especially with Floyd's daddy problems being exposed on 24/7 XD

In Britain, Hatton-May was huge. But overall got to be De La Hoya-Mayweather. Proof is in the buyrates.

I don't think I've ever seen a fight as hyped as Hatton vs Mayweather over here, it was being talked about even by non boxing fans.
