Did anybody in attendance that wrote about it ever suggest the atmosphere of everybody thinking Louis was done for, though?

My understanding is that not many were even all that surprised that Galento managed to jolt him. Galento always had the kick of a mule if nothing else, and Louis' style (though exemplary textbook boxing) and efficient but still less than average foot speed lent itself to occasionally taking some licks from inferior opponents en route to destroying them.

Agreed. Holyfield beating Valuev is a myth distinct to the boxing blogs and US media. Ringside reporters scored it fairly uniformly for Valuev and if you're unbiased, it was quite clear Valuev won, unless you prefer fighters who are on the defensive and land less punches :rofl

Tommy Coyle nearly being one shotted by far past his best, feather fisted Martin Gethin... before Gethin got an earful in-between rounds for potentially upsetting Coyle's big domestic clash with Luke Campbell and consequently retired with an "injured" ear drum despite being hit with nothing. :nut:lol:

    Great call!!

Limond had Amir in dire straits in that fight...and the count seemed ridiculously long.
