I remember Cotto getting 1mil against Trout but because his own company was also promoting, it was rumored that he would make at least twice as much.

Nonito Donaires purse was 1.32M against Guillermo Rigondeaux (750K)

I think Marquez was the highest paid boxer this year with 1.4M against Lavarados 650K. If you dont count fighters that appear on PPV.
Thats a lot of money for a 40 year old especially against someone like Alvarado.

Good thread I've often wondered how they generate that sort of money to pay the fighters..

Mike Tyson made 10 million to fight Buster Mathis Jr on Fox in 95.

Klitschko makes about ten every time out but made more like twenty against Povetkin and Haye.

Roy Jones Jr used to get about 10 million when he fought on regular HBO.

I'm not sure what but Ray Leonard definitely got paid when he fought on cable channels like ABC. Larry Holmes did too.

Ali would get about twenty million a fight.

Gene Tunney got the equivalent of 14 million dollars for the Dempsey rematch.

Joe Louis got the equivalent of 7.5 million for fighting Billy Conn.

Marciano earned the equivalent of 4 million for fighting Moore.

Robinson made the equivalent of 4 million for fighting Basilio.

Yes, I think he got 8 or 9 million guarantee for that one if my memory serves right!

They were trying to set up DLH vs Mayweather 2 and Forbes did pretty good versus Oscar

I'd love to watch a huge boxing event during the day or early night on big prime time national network.. They make crazy money through football and basketball advertisement time slots. They could definitely do it with the big names of boxing with some marketing.

Consider that most MMA stars do not even make a million on a Major Pay Per View Event
