George Foreman vs Jimmy Young. Foreman was expected to win this fight to get another shot at Ali to win his old title back. It didn't go to plan with Young winning on points. George retired at this point, then made a comeback ten years later.
And now we are discussing #2... So I will add the following to the new debate: With hindsight: Wlad/Puritty At the time: Johansson/Manchen
Shannon Briggs first loss was mild shock, to me at least, I admit I thought he could be the real deal, his handspeed for a big dude was awesome. He is a dude that looks like he could take a harder shot than he can take. Mind you I wouldn't say that to his face but you know what I mean.

One that comes to mind is the Norton--Bobick fight. Duane was being hyped and groomed for a title shot & Norton was at the down side of his career. Not everyone bought into Bobick of course but it wasn't as if everyone bought into Norton either, at that stage of the game. It was expected to be a competitive fight though, but ended up illustrating a fatal flaw in Bobick's game. Man, just think of the Bobick paydays if he wins that fight.....what a dropoff.
