The fight scoring in my State of New York, flat out 'sucked'. Bruce Curry floors Wilfred 'thrice' in Round 4. Wilfred just barely edges Bruce in Round 6. Each round was scored, was tabulated as a Round win only, with no supplemental points. "Horrendous"
Pepe, in NY wasn't it optional for the officials to use the supplemental points system? I don't understand optional. It should either be in place or not. I recall the Billy Douglas-Pedro Soto fight fought with the supplemental system and because of that, Douglas was given the fight over Soto who had won more rounds but Billy scored a couple of knockdowns. I beleive that fight took place around the same time, both in MSG. What's the deal with optional?
scartissue, Correct. The supplemental point system, can be used at the 'discretion' of the judge scoring the round. In other words, not 'mandatory' supplemental scoring. Remember Renaldo Snipes vs Gerrie Coetzee at the Westchester Theatre. That location was about 4 miles from my home in Hartsdale, New York. I believe I could here the boo's from my house, after the Decision was announced. New York, New York
