Mares is set to go up against the 19yr veteran ... 35 going on 36 yr old Penalosa ...

6 L's isn't that much for a 19yr career ... and i'm sure that Penalosa was robbed a time or two or three in during his career.

But Mares is too fast ... too schooled ... too skilled --

Do you know what prospect means? Here...

1.Usually, prospects. a.an apparent probability of advancement, success, profit, etc.
b.the outlook for the future: good business prospects.

Why do you need to be a certain age? You just need not be a champion, otherwise you've already achieved relative success.

    Flawed logic...

How many fighters get rushed into a title fight, only to lose because they werent "ready yet". Or how many fighters dont get a title shot until late because of either bad (or good sometimes) management or being ducked, or whatever it may be. Or how about fighters who are forced to start their careers late...like Yuriorkis.

Gamboa was unable to turn pro at a younger age because of being in Cuba. This was not any of his fault. It was politics. He has 10 fights so far....I dont care what age you are, 26 or 36...you have 10 pro fights, your still a prospect.

I have to go for Amir Khan, yea he has deficiences, but thats why he is a prospect. Very exciting and gets bums on seats, how he'll do on world level who knows, but he has time on his hands.

No he doesn't by the way ...

Dirrell is just as fast, longer, and just as strong w/ both hands.

I doubt if they ever fought that Dirrell would lose ... Ward has been dropped before too ... he's overwhelming guys with his speed now, but Dirrell is fighting tougher guys.

I don't think that Ward would be able to handle the switching and the combonation of speed, length, & power --

Ward hasn't even went 10 full rounds yet ... Dirrell has been against a tough guy in Steven --
