Just because you are a gold medalist doesn`t mean you will be a good pro! I think he only had 7 pro fights and who did he beat? Was he a big puncher? Fast? Good chin? something has to stand out other than winning a gold medal, every olympics you got to have a gold medal winner right? How many of them go on to become something special?
Korobov has only lost once (in a fight he was winning until he got caught by Andy Lee's pet right hook and overwhelmed) so it might be too early to write him off completely. However, he's 34 years old now and he's failed to live up to the hype or the promise he showed in the amateurs. He was an absolutely superb amateur but sadly I think he left his best in them.
Gave it his all to the sport and didn't really get much back. I really hope he made some good money but looking at the opponents he faced, i doubt he did.
Yes it's a shame as he's real talent. Seems like a good guy, too. I suspect you're right about that. Lovely right hook (the second KD) he dropped the tough Jose Uzcategui with This content is protected
Ievgen Khytrov. He still can make it, but I thought he would be champion in 3 years after debuting. Egor Mekhontsev Olympic Champion. Had lots of potential, but never made it as a pro
Denis Boytsov. Great hope, but lost against Leapai... and then this attack against him damn that sucks so bad. I hope he gets better! Btw does someone have info about his condition?
