Ike simply had him timed for the most part. He had a strategy that worked. Byrd tried to roll with everything and successfully managed to for much of the fight, but he was getting hit cleaner than usual right up until he got caught.
Really, you don't think it will be a right hand, considering Fury seems to be such a sucker for them? Also, Chef, what do you think the best shot is that Wlad has taken? He's gone longer than any HW champ in history without going down, defense is probably the main part of that but clearly he's got an underrated chin.
The Lewis uppercut on Vitali was the first to jump to mind, but did I really just skim through this thread without seeing a single mention of Hagler-Hearns? :smoke
Think it was mentioned b4,la motta hasn't yet tho in any number of his fights, obvious one being the massacre
i was there myself mate.....i was a few rows back on pulev's side of the ring.to see that left hook finish up close after waiting so long to see wlad fight live was one of those memories i will take to the grave. i've been to a fair few live fights but nothing came close to that fight last november.
and while i'm talking left hooks........ zale ko graziano https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaZkJADx3AE got to be worth a mention
Can't speak for Chef, but I think it will be a left hook because most tall guys are so used to writing short guys that they get out of trouble by leaning back. Tyson may train not to do that in this case, but he will start doing it once he's in the fight. Ladimir's leap in lead left hook will get him good
Mayorga getting pounded by trinidad for 8 rounds. There were many, many punches in that fight that should have knocked mayorga out
He didn't effectively avoid that hard left hook, or right hand he ate right before it was stopped, although he did avoid the other shots.
