Rigondeaux- Three divisions north of his best weight, and 37 years is like 57 in lower weight years. Kovalev- Gets hit in the belt line, holds his tummy and cries to ref.
Sergey has never once petulantly refused to rise from his stool after taking no punishment. I have sympathy for Rigo the man, his personal plight, and I don't get down with the mass cracking on his appearance and all that. But that was an unholy level of apathy he demonstrated in gluing his ass to the stool, even as old and outsized as he was, and it summed up his approach to his professional career in general. It's the biggest fight of your life and you haven't yet sustained any real licking. Come out and face the task you took on, man. Do yourself proud, go for broke.
If you're fighting 2 or 3 divisions north of your best weight, you are past your best days, you're the underdog, and you quit when you know there is nothing you can do, You think its worse than a prime fighter who claims to have gotten robbed in the first fight, who promises to make a statement, and should have the psychological advantage since he claims he won the first fight just quits aby sitting on the ropes holding his tummy and looking down?? Come on.. are you hating of Rigo, or love riding Sergey?
Even putting Kovalev as the first option won’t help this poll. Lol It’s Rigoblin all day! Take your L and go the **** home Rigo ‘fans’ No amount of excuses you come up with will help.
Gave me a mental image of a deranged Gallagher swinging his sledge-o-matic at some poor fool's jewels. http://www.bonoff.net/images/vgallagher6.jpg
If Magomed would have quit on his stool against Perez, you all would have cried from mountaintops that he was a "coward," a "quitter," and not worthy of respect. You guys suck. Honestly, boxing fans are the worst. All you guys who express some disappointment about retiring mid-match as if they owe you something and what they're doing is some simple task. Bunch of macho strong men on this forum who have absolutely definitely boxed other men. Doesn't need to be any agenda here, unlike the butthurt I see floating around. "Rigo is a quitter!" "No he's not. Kovalev quit!" "Nuh-uh!" You guys suck.
Too Kell Brooks defence, ALOT of boxers would of quit if there was a very high chance you could go blind, especially after how close he came with golovkin too losing his sight where too his credit he was fully prepared to carry on. With the Golovkin injury constantly on your mind and the same thing is occurring again, your vision is going and there's still two rounds left... he done the right thing for his health and his career, there's no comparison between Brook and the others that quit. Brook would of been a fool too not pull out of the fight when he did. Would you rather him lose his sight and be known as a man with big balls or keep his sight and save himself for another day?
