Garcia (-2000) vs Martin (+900) was the biggest upset, but it's not that surprising given the long layoff of Garcia. Usyk vs Joshua was the most significant and shocking. Lopez vs Kambosos was the most satisfying.
i agree with the mikey loss. a 4 division titlist who spent considerable time on the p4p list losing to a virtual unknown. pac is old, aj has limited boxing iq, and teos reputation is largely based off one win.
didnt watch that fight, but if it was the same commey loma fought, then it means little in my estimation. i saw a very slow and predictable fighter that doesnt belong anywhere near elite level.
I've got to agree. Whether or not Kambosos-Lopez was the biggest upset is up for debate. But it was sweeter than a fresh batch of Loukoumades.
I picked Joshua to win a decision but that is very far from an Upset of the Year sort of claim. Usyk was in everyones top 4 P4P going into the fight! The biggest upsets are when top fighters lose to unranked dudes (see: Wonjongkam/Jaro). Mikey/Martin and Warrington/Lara seem good top picks. There is always a ranked dude in the sub-bantam range that loses to a "nobody."
Kambosos beating Teo. Lopez was largely viewed as a bit of a beast in the division, and let's be honest, nobody really knew who Kambosos was. Usyk /AJ was an upset but not that big to those who are Usyk fans and know what he can do.
I think Sandor against Mikey is the biggest upset but the one that surprised me the most was Rosado against Melikuziev
