Not nearly as big as Rahman-Lewis, but Forrest-Mosley and Mayorga-Forrest were both stunning upsets that caught everyone off guard.

That was huge. Get rid of Tyson-Douglas and that could be the biggest of the 90s.

Honeyghan was 5-1 against Curry and Barkley was 4-1 against Hearns.

Duran - Laing was a big upset.

I don't even think Laing predicted that one.

Probably not, but his manager Mickey Duff apparently bet $5,000 on him (at 7:1 odds)!

A few from the 2000s have been listed, but Raheem against Morales must be right up there and I don't think I've seen anyone mention it yet. Not quite as big as Tarver-Jones II or Rahman-Lewis I, but despite the Barrera defeats Morales was still a consensus top ten guy, pound for pound, and was coming in off the back of his greatest win against Pacquiao. Even though Raheem was a tough styles match up for him, I don't think there were more than two, maybe three bigger upsets in the decade.

Also, for the 90s, Junior Jones' losses against John Johnson and Pinckney came pretty much out of the blue. Not sure which one you'd class as the bigger upset, but nobody could realistically have seen those coming. Jones looked set for potential greatness before then, although to be fair he did redeem himself with the Barrera victories.

Douglas over Tyson is the only 90s answer.

    :bump

I was going to start a new thread on this, but then I searched and found this one, so I bumped it.

The Greatest Boxing Upsets by Decade---

1880's: Paddy Ryan over Joe Goss
1890's: James J. Corbett over John L. Sullivan
1900's: Marvin Hart over Jack Johnson
1910's: Jess Willard over Jack Johnson
1920's: Gene Tunney over Jack Dempsey
1930's: James J. Braddock over Max Baer
1940's: Fritzie Zivic over Henry Armstrong
1950's: Randy Turpin over Sugar Ray Robinson
1960's: Muhammad Ali over Sonny Liston
1970's: Leon Spinks over Muhammad Ali
1980's: Sugar Ray Leonard over Marvin Hagler
1990's: Buster Douglas over Mike Tyson
2000's: Hasim Rahman over Lennox Lewis
2010's: Andy Ruiz over Anthony Joshua
2020's: Teofima Lopez over Vasyl Lomachenko (subject to change)

Note: This is NOT an end all list. Tomorrow, if I did it again, I would probably change a few of them. Also there may be a robbery or two on the list. Feel free to pick mine apart, and/or name your own!

The 80s did feature Trevor Berbick beating Pinklon Thomas, Bonecrusher beating Tim Witherspoon and Michael Spinks beating Larry Holmes.

2010s had Jeff Horn beating Pacquiao

2020. Teofimo is too good and too big for that to be a major upset. Jeison Rosario stopped a multi belt holding Julian William's last year.

1970s has to be Foreman Frazier. the most visible anyhow. I think Napoles was ready to be taken and Stracey was a decent contender
80s is a tie between Sandoval - Chandler and Leonard Hagler
1990s of course the Tyson Douglas
    2000 - 2010 Jones Tarver

I didn't consider the Raheem fight much of an upset. I can't remember who I picked.
