I cant believe that this tread has gone four pages and no one mentioned Shannon Briggs. No doubt in my mind that he was the most talented heavyweight I have ever seen fight. Maybe the fastest hands of any heavyweight EVER. With great power and size.

I read here that someone picked Grant....I wouldnt say that he was a waste of talent when you really look at what he was working with. He was a guy that never picked up a pair of boxing gloves until 1993 at the age of 21 he had 12 amatuer fights and turned pro in 1994 six years later in 2000 he was fighting on the biggest stage for the biggest prize in boxing. Waste of Talent?? not even close.

I agree. Same applies to Williams and maybe Tubbs too.

All three were incidently clearly better than the utterly meciocre, yet durable bore-athon Tony Tucker. I'll never understand why he got nearly as many title shots as he did as #1 mandatory. :nut :dead

I think that Tyson's fighting ability based mainly on his rage. The same rage was the cause of his depression I guess, led him to prison and messed his career up.

So maybe it's like he couldn't have been greater than he was cause to make him a disciplinned, focused, determined boxer like Lennox you need to take his rage away and that would make him fight much worse...

    Georgi Kandelaki!

What a waste of talent! His British promoter had never been able to match him with a decent name before he retired for good-undefeated,untested.

Juan Gomez. What a talent he has! Gomez is probably the most gifted fighter at heavy weight, but has wasted his talent by preferring partyhing and having fun with girls to sweating inside a box gym.
