I agree Im a huge Tyson fan, and he has already achieved so much, but if he would have maintained focus he could of been so much greater than he already was. Imagine if he trained like he did from 85-88 his whole career, didnt go to jail, didnt become a drug addict stayed away from the girls theres no doubt he would better than he was ten fold. Its not that he wasted talent its that he didnt reach his full potential I think thats what people are trying to say

Okay, i see that it can be debatable.. Even though i feel that the majority would feel that he is HOF worthy

The real wastes of talent are the ones you never hear about:

Mads Larsen was an unbeleivable underachiever.

Leon Spinks could have done better.

Lester Ellis might have done better if he wasn't rushed to the top and didn't drink himself into oblivion.

Edwin Valero and Ike Ibeabuchi. These are two of the most talented boxers in the last 50 years and both of them were complete psychopaths who lost it.

I think Edwin Valero would have beaten Pacquiao and a lot of others if he hadn't lost it. He was just intimidating as hell and scary in and outside the ring. I honestly think Pacquiao would have ducked him. I think Ike Beabuchi would probably be heavyweight champion right now if he didn't go to prison.

Tyson was the undisputed heavyweight champion. Hamed was the lineal featherweight king. Both won multiple titles, earned a lot of money, gained a lot of fame. Both had excellent careers, so I wouldn't agree that they wasted their talent.

Laing would've been my pick, too.

    What about Davey Moore?

had a career. with up and downs. we could see his prime in 86-87. he wasnt getting any better, because physicly and mentaly maybe not technicly he reached the prime in that time.

was a waste, because he did not like to train. but he had good fights to before facing barrera.

valero. he arguably may be the hardest puncher in the history of boxing along with guys like jackson, hearns etc. and he was beating everybody and always in spectacular fashion and he was on his way fighting guys like juan manuel marquez, manny pacquiao or amir khan, basicly all the top dogs around his weight. he would probably have lost, but he would always have had the punchers chance to end it all with one solid hook, he had the power in both hands to do that. khan would have get KO'd, if he thought maidana hit hard, than wait til he would have fought valero :yep. marquez would probably have outboxed him, still valero was technicly underrated and you could see in the demarco fight that he was technicly improving. as far as pacquiao vs valero :admin this fight would have had the potential of "the greatest fight ever". both were power puncher, both were wild and had the condition to go the distance, this would have been an absolut WAR :fire
