Sibbo! I used to root for Sibson when I was a kid. I'll always remember my parents forgoing their own TV programmes so I could watch the Christie fight. Bless them.

Not sure if Sibson was really a wasted talent, but he would have made a decent belt holder if Hagler hadn't been around.

Tyson definitely could've done more but to me James Toney was a bigger waste, after the RJJ fight he really fell apart until he fought Jirov and than Holyfield but than he went back to being a fat azz, and what about Bowe? His **** poor conditioning destroyed his career.

How about Ike Quartey? SO inconsistent. Beat Oba Carr, blew out Vince Phillips, drew with Lopez, took 17 or 18 months off lost to Oscar, took another 14 months+ off, lost to Vargas.

His career was basically over by then already, even if he did get screwed by Forrest later. One of the best jabs ever too.

you do realize how long the "history" of boxing spans, right? impossible to say. from our era there are the obvious choices which have been stated for the most part. Tyson surely didnt do himself any favors but he did enough to make 9 figures in purses.

as big of a fan as i am, pavlik hasnt exactly made the most of his career to date either.

    I'll come from another Angle...
Anyone remember a fighter named Lamar "Kidfire" Parks??
@one point considered one of the brightest prospects in the MW division. (90's)

I don't remember the story but bottom line he had to cut his career short due in part to him having contracted the AIDS virus or some **** like that anyway...

Lamar Parks another name for the list.

Clottey... ridiculous waste of talent... if only he threw a punch now and again...

  8. hamed wasnt a talented boxer. he was very athletic, but he just wasnt a boxer. he should have been an acrobat in the circus.

  9. what about that heavyweight who beat david tua in his prime? some dude from nigeria. he's in jail as i type this. thats a complete waste of talent.

Tyson I believe would have a short reign even if he had kept his act together. I have a memory of a Cus interview where he said Mike's style as a fast explosive boxer was the type of style that burns out quickly.

Currently, Frankie Gavin could turn out that way.
