In my view it is Zab Judah. He should have achieved alot more than he did. He had all the talent in the world, he just lacked the determination, discipline, dedication and heart.

Mine isn't at world level. But Britain's only amateur world champion Frankie Gavin, Turned pro in 2008 and doesn't make weight and doesn't seem interested in boxing!

I might catch some flack for this, but I think James Toney was a waste of Talent in the sense that while he went on to do well and win titles, his lack of dedication to staying in shape definitely hurt him. I think if Toney had been more careful about his diet and exercise he would have gone on to achieve more.

Agree with James Toney. I’d also put Naseem Hamed. He was barely in his mid-20s when his love for the game started dying.

Andre Dirrell is a current one.

Good point about Guzman, he had so much natural talent, he lacked the commitment, if he was making weight and staying focused, he would have been a real top fighter

Yeah good point. Gavin was a solid amateur, he had excellent talent it's a shame to see him waste it.

I have to go with Valero.

Spadafora is a great call. YT.

I don't know enough about pre-1970s boxing to comment. John Garfield is the man to advise you there.

Zab Judah still went on to win 5 world titles across 2 weight divisions and remain an active player in the game right through his career.

Joan Guzman, although I know he picked up a few world titles just hasn't been the constant threat that he could have been, not losing when stepping up like Judah, but not even attempting to fight the best anymore. The ****er hasn't had an impressive performance for 5 years and 17 pounds below is current weight division.
