At least they are admitting that Bute isn't ready, though I think he'd give both guys hell now. Butes simply a good fighter. The questions for him are intangiables and he seems to keep overcoming obstacles.

It appears they want him to get the IBF title, get a solid defence or two in and then go for the big boys.

:good No one thinks Bute is ready yet...but Bute and his trainer think he might be ready in a short while...What is most important to me as a Bute fan is knowing that whenver he WILL indeed be ready, he will do his outmost to get into the ring with the best asap, on pretty much whatever contractual terms...As you would put it, achillesthegreat, it is important that he dares to be great!;)

Bika is obviously shillling for Kessler. Perhaps it's because he is well paid to be a sparing partner for him. Ever think of that?? :patsch

I did, but not now...why the hell would he play Bute up...just because he was beaten by him? He could just pretend he was unlucky on the night or something...

To me these comments are about Bute, not Kessler...It seems however that both Bute and his trainers do INDEED think that Calzaghe could be an easier fight than Kessler, for Bute...now that Bute's trainer says so, it seems Bute wasn't joking when he picked Kessler against JC...but who knows, I could be wrong!:rasta

Well, maybe - but it's also a way to subtly dis Calzaghe, which Bika has also done directly before - something which I think springs directly from his alliance with the Kessler camp. It's entirely possible that he's trying to do both - compliment Bute, while at the same time diminishing Calzaghe. In fact, I think that is EXACTLY the intention.

I think you are right...I have felt that Bika was taking too much of a dislike for JC and too much of a liking for Kessler when he started being the latter's sparring partner...something smelt fishy...screw Bika, though...this is about Bute now...and as Bika says...a Bute body-shot should not be underestimated...

I'm so pissed off with this site crashing...I've started so many decent (!!) threads about Bute that are going to be lost forever...and most of the comments people have not had a chance to digest...:|

Bute is very good. I think Calzaghe is also very good but overrated. JC is little faster than Bute but has tendancy to slap instead of punching. JC also had the chance of getting few gift stoppage win. Kessler is better than both but might have problems with southpaw style. Hope will see them fight one another....although I doubt it.....

Like I said in other topics.

Bute passed the test and is no longer a prospect. He is now a contender on his way to fighting for a world title.

If he wins he should make a few title defenses against credible opponent to have more experience at the world class level.

Then at the end of 2008 he might be ready to take on the next level (Kessler-Calzaghe).

    Maxime,

    :good

people forget that Bute will not go into the ring too early against anyone...when he goes into the ring, he'll go because he has a good chance of winning!

Hmmm.... I know JC fans need to find some reason, other than Bika actually meaning it, but ... nah.

Bika sparred Kessler som time ago and they went about 30 rounds, he then went 12 rounds with Calzaghe and 11 with Bute.

The key point is that he got much much more for meeting Calzaghe and Bute than he did for sparring Kessler briefly. So if money is the reason then he should be praisingCalzaghe.

Also he has never actually lost to Kessler officially so for personal pride he could say that ok he did loose to Calzaghe, but he would still beat Kessler. Now he is on his own free will saying that he actually thinks Kessler is on another level the the other two. Even more convincing because Kessler is the only one he doesn't HAVE TO admit he would loose to.

:good -and if he were trying to get in the picture to a kesslerfight
wouldnt it be more effective for him to claime kessler had nothing
he couldnt deal with!? and that he would beat him up?
the guy loost to jc so it would make more sence if he said that jc were in a league of his own?!

Well, then I guess, Bute and Beyer also have Kesslers dick up their arse, because they've both stated that they believe Kessler is better than Calzaghe.
