    On 31/6/10 Sakio Bika meets John Paul Mendy of France 28-0-1 in Las Vegas
    in an IBF Supermiddle eliminator.

    Mendy has 6 wins and a draw in the USA. Looks like a good match up for Bika.
    Thoughts on this one ?

    Would be great to see Bika get the chance to prove, one way or the other, whether he's got the world title talent.

    As others have alluded to above, something will probably de-rail it from happening.

    He'll get beat because of his inactivity then will have to come back to Australia to fight and no one will fight him so he'll be up **** creek.

    If there was a book on it, I reckon the fight being canned would be paying about $1.10 at TAB Sportsbet.

    Good Luck to Bika he has ahd a Great career and has beeten Manfredo JR,Soliman to name a few.
    Went the distance with Bute
    went the distance with Calzaghe
    and fought Beyer fight was stopped in 4th round Beyer cut under eye.

    Now this bloke has never Dodged a fight or taken a backward step on the World stage deserves a real chance for a title.
    Bika for years has been trying to get Mundine into the ring but Mundine would not come to the table I can understand why Bika would have spanked him.!!!!

    If Bika and Mundine fought in 2006 ala Danny Green, there's no betting.... Mundine an easy winner.

    Matter of opinion Mate,but Mundine has ran from Bika for some time now Bika at least had the courage to make the fight happen.!!!!

    Tend to disagree, he's sat on his ass in the last 2 years and has done nothing. He's been called out by many of the top SMW during this time.

    I heard he has priced himself out of a lot of fights...

    Don't know what's happened but seems like the doubters were right.
    The proposed fight between Bika & Mendy 31/7/10 has disappeared from the schedule.
    At 31 yrs there should still be time for Bika to make his mark. But with just 5 competitive rounds in over 2 years you have to wonder if this bloke is serious about his career.
    You don't just get handed big money fights you have to earn them.
