I just watched the replay, and that fight reminded me of the old saying that says, "Never hunt what you can't kill." Jaidon was the young lion with a string of wins and a very respectable ko percentage, but he hit Bika with **** that has knocked out many other opponents and Bika just kept coming.

Saikio Bika is defintitely the best contender winner yet, and that was certainly the best contender fight so far.

Definitely. Bika is a superb gatekeeper, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. I can't imagine him ever beating an elite fighter, but he's a tough-as-**** guy with tremendous heart. Congrats for him getting a big payday.

There's one thing about this season of Contender though that could be a problem going forward. If they keep including guys like Bika and Soliman, its going to become less of a vehicle for prospects than it was maybe originally intended to be.

Maybe it was just this season's "cast", but tossing green up and comers to world title challengers was obviously not something you'd see a smart promoter sanction. It seems like from this point on, the show might get more serious. Which is a great thing as far as the fights go, but not for developing young talent. It should be interesting to see the direction SRL decides to steer things.

    Good point.

Codrington got beat up at the last pretty good.
He might not come back from that type of pasting.

Great fight. Bika looked good. It only shows you what kind of talents Calzaghe and Bute are for dominating this guy. Codrington pretty much lost every round.

Remember that Bika has no World-Class training on the Calzaghe & Bute fight. Now he taste a World Class training he'll improve more. I want him to train with freddie Roach. Look what improvement Manfredo got with Roach??? One thing Bika has is a Decent Chin & Great stamina. He's a good specimen, just polish him a little more.

    What's next for Bika????

Lacy, Winky??? I got a good one. I want him with Edison Miranda next.

    huh... what?????

I can assure you that Bika's training camp for the Bute's fight was 10x better then the crap they did on The Contender. He said himself in many articles leading to the Bute's fight that he spent a crap load of money on sparring partners, nutritionists, conditionning and strenght coach, etc... and that it was by far his best preparation to date.

Don't talk when you don't know what the **** you're talking about. :rofl

I just watch Bute-Bika. He definitely improve his Game with the Codrington fight. Let's give him to roach & you'll see a lot more improvements.

I disagree. I thought it looked better in the Bute fight in the early rounds. Then Bute took over with his superior skills. Against Codrington it was a slugfest. Nothing impressive there.

I may be accused to be a nuthugger but I strongly believe Bika's fight against Lucian Bute was the one in which he was the best prepared, had the best gameplan, wanted it most, used his intelligence most and gave it his best shot...(compared to Joe v. Bika, Bika v. Thysse and Bika in the Contender...haven't watched any of the other Bika fights...)

I think that if you watch the tapes of these fights and read up on Bika's preparation for this fight, his interviews before and after the fight you will agree with me.
