Faversham believed, that the 1963/1964 Cleveland Williams would be a more dangerous fight, than the plodding Sonny Liston. The goal of Bill Faversham, was to keep Cassius Clay undefeated and get him a title fight in his familiar surroundings of Miami Beach. Once the proposed bout between Sonny Liston vs. Ingemar Johansson (at the the time, the biggest possible money fight out there) fell through, Cassius Clay was the only other viable big money fight, that would bring in over $4,000,000 for I-C-P, Sonny Liston and the promoters.
