Starting now is the co-feature, Juan Alberto Godoy vs. Jorge Miranda.

I'll probably be covering Rios vs. Abril on the HBO PPV for the time being. (also about to start now)

Hopefully the timing will work out to cover the main event in full. If not, I'll at least keep an eye and provide periodic updates. :good

Epic faceoff between Godoy and Miranda, jutting their chins out so far they almost touched.

 

Jorge Daniel Miranda is nicknamed "El Chino" and actually has very similar facial features to countryman Marcos Rene Maidana.

I'm not sure who started using it first and who was the copycat. :conf

Miranda has been pro longer.

 

Excellent action, although my attention is mostly on Rios vs. Abril...

Entering round 9. Same torrid pace. Cutman doing a good job under the circumstances.

 

Godoy won a MD. The crowd appeared not to like it, but Miranda shook his head and waved at them in appeasement - indicating that he's OK with the decision and has utmost respect for Godoy. The two showed a lot of mutual respect afterward, great sportsmanship after a bloody war. It did appear Godoy outboxed him down the stretch, despite having his face torn up by legal blows and continuing to eat some big shots late.

Baldomir is the clear aggressor. Godoy tries to counter with hooks to the head but is forced to tie up as Baldomir jabs in on him and slams down with rights.

Hard to even post a reply with the site crashing as it is. Baldomir forcing exchanges with the younger man and getting the better of them.
