The soccer match in progress on TyC Sports - "PLA" vs. "ATL" - is currently at 41 minutes of play, with "PLA" up 1-0.

Does that mean this is only half over and likely to run long and cut into boxing time considerably? :twisted:

Tall and lanky Pieroni has sustained a cut by his left eyebrow. Chaves is giving up probably five inches or more, but having success backhanding the jab to get Pieroni moving in straight lines and then swooping in with head-down charges hooking up top.

 

:admin If cutoff jeans are the customary standard of dress (and routinely filled out like this) I may have to move over five thousand miles to Neuquen.

The unofficial TyC Sports commentator gave the fifth "10-9.5" to Chaves, and has Chaves leading 50-47 entering the last frame.

To have such a score, Pieroni must have been given "9.5 points" in four of the five elapsed so far.

I understand that half-point scoring is permitted and even prevalent under the systems in use down in South America...but it seems to be not dissimilar from scoring even 10-10 rounds in that some cannot resist abusing it. atsch

 

Chaves is out-hustling Pieroni in the sixth with breathless combos of jabs and looping rights, and will probably get the nod here. Lots of push-jabs and grabbing by Pieroni, who is more visibly tired despite having consistently thrown less. A bit of exchanging in the last minute, Pieroni reaching with the 1-2 and tossing in some long uppercuts and soft grenade rights over the top with Chaves covering up and skimming the ropes awaiting his turn to embark on his longer and more substantial offensive ventures.

 

The unofficial TyC Sports commentator scorecard gave the 6th to Chaves 10-9.5 and has it 60-56.5 to Chaves overall.
