Caceres is the shorter fighter, no? He's not doing all that badly in there.

A part of me always likes to sympathize with the underdog (and of course it would be funny if the Godoys were embarrassed on their handcrafted card...seriously, look into the show promoter's record...a handful of Godoys on all their events...and there are tons of them...like rabbits...) - but if Caceres does pull the upset it really would set the stage for Godoy vs. Caceres IV...and potentially beyond. :yep :-(

    No, he really ain't...

I'm starting to see why they felt Max was unready to graduate from this stage of his (arrested) development...

If ever I were to score a round 10-8.5, it would be the one that just passed. :D

I gave Caceres an 8.5 since he was 'bout to get KO'D.

    Round 4

Caceres is ducking and rolling and putting up the jab. Godoy runs into a few jabs and leans down on Caceres. Slapping right hooks up on the cheek by Caceres while circling away on bent knees. Godoy begins timing his right hand and catches his prey while ululating. Caceres' knees buckle as he is straightening them and Godoy flurries him into the ropes before he can recover. Caceres remains in flux, moving enough to roll with Godoy's straight punches and keep his footing.

    10-9 Godoy

    39-37 Godoy

Caceres has only been stopped twice in 48 losses, so he is a tough mofo.

    Round 5

Caceres is buzzing the jab across Caceres' scalp, parting his hair with it and then drilling the right hand into his chest or shoulder as Caceres snaps up and peels out. Caceres is ducking and jumping into Godoy, causing a head clash. Godoy is cut badly. Caceres is doing more holding than punching, and running his circuit on a low plane when the ref forces a break, very negative.

    10-9 Godoy

    49-46 Godoy

    :nod

...and his opposition the last several years has been a veritable who's-who of domestic prospects and even some fringe world contenders.

    Round 6

Caceres is ducking and leaning over as he leads Godoy around the ring, at times laying his upper body partially on the ropes for support - perhaps unseen by the ref. Godoy pumps both fists in on him, in constant pursuit. Jabs and crosses, mostly errant, keep herding Caceres into the rope where he squirms and flops around, somehow never getting hit flush more than a couple of consecutive times and managing to stay up and on the move despite getting rocked frequently. Godoy rallies one last time in the final ten seconds and nearly drops Caceres on accumulation drowning him in a corner, but cannot quite manage.

    10-9 Godoy

    59-55 Godoy

The unofficial TyC Sports commentators' scorecard has it 59-58 to Godoy, giving Caceres the 1st and 4th 10-9 and Godoy the rest 10-9.5. :blood

OK...I think maybe now Max has earned a chance to get in with someone else after having gone 22 rounds with Caceres in the span of nine weeks. :!:

...unless B&G Promotions is planning to stage boxing one more time in 2013, in which case they may as well let Caceres have another go. Who else are they going to find on zero notice to give the boy a challenge? :yep

Hopefully, this completes the trilogy of Godoy-Caceres. (Yes, boxrec says this is their third fight!)
