Godoy has now earned a chance at Mayweather. Right after Khan, of course! :thumbsup

Here is a recent post of mine about the family...

There may actually be over a dozen siblings who all box (male and female), given the multitude of different names skimming over the recent B&G Promotions schedule.

Haha...I'll have to check boxrec. Hopefully, the Godoys have fought each other, but I doubt it. (I guess if the Klitschko refuse to fight each other, then the Godoys shouldn't either.)

Who's the eye candy they just paraded around the ring, stuffed into the unbuttoned white blouse and black leather shorts? :think

She hugged a few of the Godoy brothers, so I guess we can safely guess she isn't Mrs. Heiland.

    Some more background:

Heiland is the southpaw in white, and hails from a much poorer rural neck of the woods and his ring name is "gaucho" which is sort of like the South American version of cowboy. He is a haymaker machine, not terribly powerful but willing to eat five to land a big one - and has the chin for it. (although he suffers a lot of knockdowns on account of his nonexistent defense and iffy balance)

Godoy is hardly a scientific master of the prize ring himself, but does have a bit more in the way of refinement and is the current pride of his expansive boxing family. He needs to settle the score in this rematch to distinguish himself and somewhat legitimize his WBC 160lb International title reign. (since his only defense since the close decision over Heiland, in which both hit the deck, came against journeyman Mateo Veron whom El Gaucho recently beat in a rematch...)

    Round 1

Heiland is waiting on the outside and pawing out his right jab. Godoy steps to his left, kicks his rear foot around dragging on the canvas like a mathematical compass, and drops the 1-2 on Heiland from long range. Heiland is tentative, plugging in a few torpedo lefts downstairs but mostly only jabbing up at Godoy from safety. A few hard straight rights by Godoy, making Heiland blink.

    10-9 Godoy

    Round 2

Heiland is tomahawking his right jab from outside, then whipping the left in on Godoy's belt line. Hard 1-2 by Godoy. Heiland circles to his left, shuffling awkwardly on his insoles. Wild left hand whipped up by Heiland, catching Godoy bang on the face. Godoy takes it and keeps his composure and drops some more 1-2s on Heiland up and down while circling.

    10-9 Godoy

    20-18 Godoy

    Round 3

Heiland is sticking the right jab out far ahead of himself, thrusting it up towards Godoy's face and looking to egg him on into an exchange on the inside. Godoy instead backpedals until he can line up a slow-but-steady right hand lead down the middle. Godoy varies his location if not his punch selection frequently, mixing up to head and body with no discernible pattern. Heiland walks into a thumping 1-2 on the sternum. Godoy keeps firing straights at Heiland and scrubs his back as Heiland bows forward. A downward jab plunges into the back of Heiland's skull and he goes down to his knees. Up at the bell.

    10-8 Godoy

    30-26 Godoy

    Round 4

Heiland is pushing the right jab out like it was a machete clearing his path walking blind through dense jungle. Heiland walks into 1-2 after 1-2 repeatedly. Clinch. Heiland manages to catch a jab on his right upper wrist, by the glove tape. Godoy is happy to make contact and keeps jabbing, perhaps in the hopes of making Heiland's wrist ache enough he will drop his loose guard altogether. Hard rights to the body by Godoy from outside. Heiland manages to grab his fist and yank him in close, and slaps up at the side and back of his head in the ensuing clinch before the bell.

    10-9 Godoy

    40-35 Godoy

    Round 5

Heiland is firing the right jab on an incline, missing by an entire body length from outside and getting countered with 1-2s on the belly as Godoy drops in place and takes aim with no fear of being reached. Long jab by Godoy. Heiland jumps inside and begins to slap up at Godoy with uppercuts from the hip. A moment's drama as Godoy seems to be stunned by the maneuver, if not actually stunned. The crowd stirs. Clinch. Godoy brings the pace back down, circling and landing his longer jab up top and the right hand on the belly. Heiland ducks and turns and shoulder-tackles his way inside, slapping up top with the right hook as their legs become entangled.

    10-9 Godoy

    50-44 Godoy

I'm not sure Heiland won the 5th, but he did make it more competitive.
