This one supposedly was less than a million miles from coming of. Who would have won it at light-heavy?
Conn was predisposed to slugging (i.e. Louis), so I expect Moore to pound out a UD. Archie Moore UD 15 Billy Conn:good
Thanks bro. How you see it is about how I see it. But this basically comes down to weakness in my view. Each will exploit the others weakness better than any other fighter they ever faced, perhaps. So i'll pick Conn on the basis that Archie could be comparitavley plodding. It's worth mentioning that Moore could find a way to draw Billy on though. And then things get interesting.
It's possible that Moore could trick Conn into that kind of fight, but I think your perception of the Louis fight may be off. Conn slugged for only tiny portions of that fight, he boxed for more than 10 rounds total I would bet. And Louis is perhaps twice the composite puncher that Moore was anyway.
Typical, you saw a couple of parts at youtube from the 1st Louis- fight, and now Conn is indirectly a slugger... Conn was a bit inconsistent in his career, so it´s hard picking him against a fighter like Moore, who showed even at the age of 40 that he´s still on top with some other fighters. But we talk about "both at their best", so I could immagine a Conn MD, very similar like the Johnson- defeat (from Moore)... Conn MD Moore
Obviously the power advantage is with Archie, but Conn was only kod by Louis,no disgrace,Ill go with Billy by dec.Moore was bigger and beat a lot of rated heavies ,but Conn was classy enough to win over heavies like Pastor and Savold. Not an easy fight for Conn, but which LH would have an easy time with Archie? He must keep to his boxing and give constant movement, not letting the Mongoose get set to throw his bombs,ie no trading as in the Louis fight.
